How Does This Work?
Located in Aiken. Open weekdays in Aiken(call for availability),Delivery to North Augusta on Friday each week.
We work hard to supply you with fresh naturally grown produce year round. We use no chemical pesticides , fertilizers, or preservatives. Our corn and all our produce is Non -GMO, Mr. Wilson saves and uses seeds that have been in his family for several generations. Any new varieties he may grow are organic, non -GMO seeds. He rotates crops and plants cover crops to keep the land healthy, and not strip the soil. Mr. Wilson also keeps bees,so we have fresh raw local honey available. Of course he also has pigs and chickens, raised organically and clean, so we have fresh eggs and pork items like our delicious sausage and bacon. None of our meat has nitrites or any additives.
Mr. Wilson also sells and rents chickens if you want your own eggs. He also has pigs/hogs to sell. The hogs eat all the yummy produce we don't sell which is what keeps them clean and healthy.
How we sell our produce – The primary way that we sell our produce used to be by the basket. Our baskets come in three sizes – a quarter basket (7 items), a half basket (15 items), or a full basket (15 items, double quantity). However now, most people prefer to just stop by and see what appeals to them. You can always assemble a basket on site, we're very flexible. Bonuses still apply if you assemble at the stand.
Of course, feel free to stop by and just pick up a few tomatoes for dinner,we also sell by the pound.
You can choose from a wide variety of items to custom build your basket. Different quantities of each type of produce constitute one “item” – e.g. 2 cucumbers = 1 item, 1/2 lb. string beans = 1 item, 3 apples = 1 item, etc. Items may also be doubled when supply allows – e.g. 6 eggs = 1 item, 12 eggs = 2 items.
If you love to eat fresh produce, buying by the basket saves you money. Of course, you can always stop by and buy a pint of local honey or a couple tomatoes for salad tonight. It seams more and more people prefer this choice.
Membership has its privileges – Our members enjoy a number of benefits including discount prices on each basket purchase and a 25% to 50% discount on a basket once they have fulfilled their pledge agreement. Our members pledge to purchase 6 baskets (1/4, 1/2, or full) in a 12 week period (25% discount on the 7th basket), or 10 baskets (1/4, 1/2, or full) in a 12 week period (50% discount on the 12th basket) .
